For some reason, I can't get the JCE Editor mambot to install my on Macbook Pro running MAMP. I just get the good ole' blank page after clicking the install button. No problems with the JCE Component.

I turned the Joomla error reporting up to Maximum as suggested in this post, but it makes no difference in what I see on install.

I prefer JCE over FCK Editor right now mainly because JCE actually works in Safari. Even though the number of Safari users is small among clients, I prefer not having to say "don't use Safari". I'd rather discuss features instead of limitations.

UPDATE: After repeated tries without apparent success, I noticed that the JCE mambot has shown up in my mambot list. Alrighty then.
